Elegant interior design can be comfortable and cozy

WASHINGTON, D.C.   •   MARTHA’S VINEYARD

Everyone deserves a space in their home or office that makes them feel at peace.

ELEGANCE + COMFORT

Miano Design Studio collaborates with clients to create casually elegant interiors. We take our inspiration from the outdoors and use light and order to create elegance and beauty and then we take that design and make it cozy.

Elegance makes us want to be in a place, but it's comfort that makes us want to stay there. We believe in having both.

Textiles and luxurious upholstery make an elegant room feel cozy

Order is how humans create beauty. It brings peace. It doesn't have to mean arranging things in rows, or that a space can't look full or dynamic. Order may lie quietly under what we notice, making a space feel easy and like all is as it should be.

Order

Combining elegance, comfort and order to interior design brings peace to a room

Looking at nature feeds our souls. We bring nature's colors and textures indoors wherever we can. Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes it's just a feeling that this is a place you want to be.

Light is everything!  Well...almost. We work with you to harness and direct natural light. Then we supplement it—giving you the tools to set the mood you want to feel.

THE WAY WE DO IT

The design process begins simply with a conversation with you, the client, to take stock of what is and isn’t working in your space. Once we have a sense of your needs, budget, and personal taste, the process begins. Your design will take shape with careful planning, researching, coordinating, and managing the many moving parts required to bring about the transformation you're looking for.

See what people are saying...

When I think of Andrea’s design aesthetic, I think of casual elegance. I think of soft colors, interesting textures and the kind of spaces that invite you to come in and stay a while. Her design is classic, warm and stands the test of time

Courtney, Washington DC

Andrea takes inspiration from the outdoors and places an emphasis on natural finishes. She sees the beauty of nature in all its glory—a sunset at the beach, a walk in the woods or simply a blue sky on a sunny day. She then magically translates this inspiration into her work as a designer.

Martha, Edgartown

Andrea is highly adept at harnessing her clients' cohesive vision while working with the natural strengths of the space they are looking to enhance. By incorporating existing design elements, she was willing to work with what we had but made it feel entirely new.
